Girls Championship

by Gianna Salvia

This past Saturday, February 25th, the Laurel Girls Varsity Basketball Team had a 20 point win of 66-46 over the Neshannock Lancers in the semi-final round of playoffs. Johnna Hill led the team with five 3’s and a total of 23 points, followed by Regan Atkins with 15 points. This win secured them a spot in the WPIAL championship game that will be played this Friday March 3rd at 3:00 pm at the Peterson Event Center. The girls will be taking on the Avonworth Antelopes. All students in grades K-12 will be given an Act-80 day so they can attend the game and support their fellow Spartans. The district will also be providing a bus to shuttle students to the event center. Tickets will be sold online or at the door for 10 dollars. Send a good luck to our Lady Spartans!
