The Laurel School District strives to work collaboratively with parents/guardians, families and community members to ensure an effective education for each student in the district. The purpose of this webpage is to provide our families with information needed to support the educational process and to better support parents and families to be partners in this endeavor. The District website has many links to provide information to parents/guardians. Our building webpage contain specific class and building information while the Alma Parent portal provides up to date, real time dissemination of student grades. The Links Page contains valuable online resources while our Emergency Info Page provides necessary information regarding school delays/closings and emergency response. The best means of working collaboratively with parents/guardians/families is communication. It is vital for two way communication to occur. Parents/guardians may schedule a meeting with teachers, principals or support staff by calling the building offices. The District provides many opportunities to showcasing our students such as Open Houses, concerts, art fairs, musicals, sporting events, in addition to community activities such as Sportsmen's Night Out, Veterans Recognition and community service projects.

Laurel's Parent Teacher Organization is an important way for parents to get involved and support the education of our students. In addition, the Laurel Community Foundation is an organization designed to develop, promote, and finance educational programs, activities, and projects for the betterment of the community in the Laurel School District. The Laurel Alumni Association provides former Laurel students with a link to their former alma mater including fundraising activities, student scholarships, and networking opportunities.

The District is blessed to have a group of dedicated people who volunteer their time and talents in a number of different activities such as classroom parties, sports teams, and marching band to name a few. Please click below for updated information on becoming a volunteer for the District.
