Laurel Elementary school is an educational building that serves students in grades K-6. The school offers a full-day kindergarten program and departmentalized courses in grades 3, 4, 5, and 6 for more in-depth studies with additional hands-on activities. Parents can keep track of their student's progress by accessing ALMA, our student information system, which displays all assignments, progress reports, and quarterly report cards. Students in our primary grades receive grade reports using a standards-based system, while students in grades 3-6 receive traditional percent grades. In conjunction with our 1:1 student device program, instruction is provided in reading, language arts, math, social studies, science, music, art, library, computer/technology, and physical education. Laurel Elementary has the benefit of a piano/keyboard lab, guitar lab, desktop computer labs, and science labs. This provides our students with opportunities for application of knowledge and skills by utilizing real world tools to provide authentic experiences. In addition to classroom experiences, we also provide relevant field trips and seasonal celebrations for each grade level through the support of the Laurel PTO. Lastly, we are a School-Wide Positive Behavioral Support(SWPBS) school and our 3 main expectations are Be Kind, Be Safe, & Be Responsible. Students who meet or exceed these expectations receive periodic incentives and rewards. Welcome to Laurel Elementary School!
