Spartans vs Lancers

by Kendra Ruperto

This past Friday night, the Laurel football team took on one of their biggest opponents, the Neshannock Lancers. Despite the loss, the boys battled through a tough match, going into double overtime. There was no doubt that any fan leaving the game felt unsatisfied with the close, but it was hard battled game by both teams. The Lancers took the lead in the beginning of the game, leaving the Spartans with none. Soon after, the Spartans came up with their first touchdown of the game, made by Chase Tinstman. Finishing the first half of the game, the Spartans had taken the lead of 14-7. As the boys headed to the locker room, everyone watched as the Laurel band, dancline, and flagline, put on a great show for all the fans. After fighting some setbacks, and injuries, the game was finished with a score of 41-34, Neshannock taking the win. We hope to see you back at the Laurel Football Stadium this Friday, September 9th, celebrating our homecoming game.
