Senior Jacob McVicker

by Breanna Quear

Super Senior Jacob McVicker was interviewed by our Journalism team to get to know him a little better.

Jacob was asked what his plans were after high school. He shared that he has decided not to go to college, but said he wanted to be a flight attendant instead. He said the reason he would choose this occupation is that he likes to travel and has a passion for helping people.

Jacob has been featured in the school's musical for 6 years, and has been singing his whole life. He has not played any sports, but said if he were to it would be ultimate frisbee.

His biggest influence is his stepmom. Jacob's mother had passed away and his stepmom stepped in and has taken care of him and his three siblings. Jacob admires her for the sacrifices she's made.

Some problems Jacob has faced while in his high school career have been anxiety and depression, but the influence of music has helped him overcome them.

If he had to give advice to underclassmen, Jacob says to get involved in everything like sports/clubs and to stay yourself; don't change for other people.

Thank you Jacob for your time. If you cannot tell already Jacob is an inspirational and hardworking student and overall person. Best of wishes to him and what he goes on to do. Now for his senior quote: “Just one small positive thought in the morning can change your whole day.”- Stephanie Simpson.

...stay yourself; don’t change for other people.
