Spartans beat Rochester

This past Friday night, the Laurel Spartans football team played a hard fought game against Rochester. The boys took on a hard battle, but came out with a win! The Laurel Spartans took an early lead in the game, with Landon Smith making the first touchdown of the game. Going into the beginning of the Second quarter, Rochester came out with a touchdown, leaving both of the teams to a tight score. The Spartans and the Rams continued to go back and forth, going into the second half of the game with a score of 21-12, Rochester taking the lead. Laban Barker came out of the half with a huge play, blocking Rochester’s punt, to get the Spartans the ball back. The game ended with a score of 30-21, Laurel pulling through with another win! Landon Smith was awarded Player of the Game, and Laban Barker awarded Play of the game. We hope to see you back at the next Laurel football game this Friday night, October 7th, against North Gate, at North Gate.
