Valentines Day
by Kendra Ruperto
Flowers, candies, heart-shaped notes- what is there not to love about Valentines Day? The sweetest celebration that only comes around once a year, is all about spreading love! Many may not know, but the holiday got its name from a Roman priest who helped couples get married. He was banned from doing so, due to older beliefs and traditions. He ended up dying on February 14th, which is the date we now celebrate the day of love! On this special day, there are so many fun things to do in Lawrence County to celebrate all the love in the air.
A very well-known restaurant from around here, that is the perfect place to take your significant other on a date, is the Crane Room. Lots of tasty delicious food, and a great atmosphere. Do you love the outdoors? Well lace up your hiking shoes and head over to Mconnels Mills for the best views and great trails. You won’t be disappointed! On February 13th, Westminster College is hosting their annual Tournees French Film Festival. Stop by for a great show and a great time with your significant other.Be sure to make a reservation at the best restaurants before or after the show: Tavern on the Square, Tuscany Square, or Ninos’ ll Tomato. We all know you can never go wrong with sweet treats and candies on Valentine's Day! Pita A Sandwich Stop is currently serving the most delicious heart shaped pita bread covered in cinnamon and sugar. Also running a limited time only special, Pizza Joes is serving heart shaped pizza for Valentines Day. Make sure to give your local Pizza Joes a call to see if they are participating! We are sending you much love and happiness on this year's Valentine’s Day!
