Jr High Football Champs
by Hayden Seifert
Last Wednesday, October 25, 2023, our Laurel junior high boys football team won the Tri-County football championship. This is Laurel’s third year winning this championship. The team is led by coach David Germanski. The boys have worked hard for years to get their 3-peat. They were able to have an undefeated season, and come out on top. The final score of the game ended 35-13 with our Laurel Spartans defeating a local rival, Neshannock Lancers. Laurel had a total of 282 offensive yards. Laurel got off to a strong start on the first play of the game, as Laurel’s Tony Geiwitz ran for a 59-yard touchdown. Geiwitz ran a total of 154 rushing yards on eight carries for Laurel. These boys have a great future ahead of them, and we wish them the best of luck. Good luck in your highschool years boys, keep up the good work!
