by Chelsea Stewart

Talia Cartwright is an ambitious, talkative, and creative senior at Laurel High School. She is involved in multiple activities including Cheerleading, Girl Scouts, Musical Theater, Journalism, FBLA, Student Council, and Class Council. She enjoys taking charge and leading those around her. She is the current Journalism President and Student Council Secretary. Talia is proud of her role in helping her team win WPIALS last year in cheerleading, and placing 4th at states.  In her free time, Talia enjoys a variety of styles of painting.

Last summer, she attended  the Washington Journalism and Media Conference, using these newfound skills to not only improve the Laurel Journalism club, but to use in her future career. After high school Talia plans to attend a four year college to major in Journalism or Marketing. Her words of advice are: “Make the most out of everything and remember, other people’s opinions of you don’t matter.”
