Student of the Month

by Talia Cartwright

Nevada Pacifico has been awarded Laurel’s March’s Student of the Month, which is well deserved since she is such an involved and hardworking student. Throughout the years she has participated in cheerleading, dance line, musical theatre, choir, and track and field. Nevada has accomplished being the leads in a handful of school musicals, like being Ella in this year's production of Rogers and Hammerstein's Cinderella. She has received medals and awards for track along with being a 4 year letter winner, in both track and cheerleading. She was a part of the 2019 WPIAL championship team for Laurel’s competitive cheerleading team. She was also Laurel Choir’s president this school year. Earlier this year, Nevada won Homecoming Queen after being voted for amongst her peers.

Despite all the time consuming activities, Nevada still has time to spend with friends, family, and even participates in her church’s youth group. Nevada can be described as outgoing, friendly, and enthusiastic by her friends and family. In the future, she plans to attend Grove City College in the fall to major in education. Nevada’s words of advice are “to embrace change. In the next few years of high school or whatever stage of life you are in, a lot of things may change.” she continues by saying, “Friends will change. Interests will change. You will also change and grow, and sometimes change can be a good thing so don’t be afraid of it. Enjoy every moment and make as many memories as you can.” Once again congratulations to Nevada for being this March’s Student of the Month.
