Basketball Season

Over the past two weeks our girls and boys basketball teams have started off their in-season games. On Monday December 5th, the Laurel Spartan boys opened up their season, on their home court competing against Ellwood. Starting the game we saw the familiar faces of some of  our seniors, Aiden Collins, Greg Preisser, George Michaels, Landon Smith, and Labon Barker, the boys put on an amazing performance, just falling the slightest bit short against Ellwood. This week our Laurel Spartan girls had their first in season game as well. The girls played Burgettstown, on Thursday December 15, on their home court. Starting off the game we saw most of our seniors, including one sophomore. The starting 5 included Tori Atkins, Regan Atkins, Josey Fortuna, Johnna Hill, and Danielle Pontius. Our Lady Spartans also put up an amazing fight, with back and forth buckets, gradually leading to the win against Burgettstown, with the final score being 51 to 41. The Spartan community is very proud of our teams, and can’t wait to see what this future holds for our basketball teams. Don’t forget to come out and show your support to our players!
