Student of the Month

By Marissa Lunn, Chelsea Stewart, and Talia Cartwright

For the month of October, Laurel Junior-Senior High School has been honored to select and showcase Natalie Alfera as it’s student of the month.

Natalie Alfera is a very accomplished individual. She won 4th in the state for wrestling in her weight class, accomplished All State and All East concert band, is a part of honors chorus, and won at the Distinguished Young Woman event that occurred earlier this year. Natalie was questioned about what she would like to accomplish in the future. She said she would like to make the All State chorus, place in the top 4 for Distinguished Young Woman at States, and hopefully win more than one varsity match in this year's upcoming wrestling season.

Natalie’s future plans consist of attending WVU for music performance and music education. When asked for three words that could be used to describe herself, Natalie said that she would consider herself ambitious, passionate, but also disheveled at the same time. As a final statement, Natalie’s advice for other students is to believe in yourself and have a good work ethic.
