Super Senior Maddie

For this week's senior spotlight, we interviewed Madison Burgess. Maddie is a 17 year old honors student, who makes herself known through her pride, supporting our Laurel Spartans. Throughout her years of being a Spartan, Maddie has been involved in cheerleading, danceline, and is also a veteran to the theater here at Laurel. When she’s not cheering, or putting on a show, outside of school, Maddie enjoys hanging out with friends, more specifically doing activities involving her youth group. When preparing to step on the sidelines to cheer on our Laurel Spartans, Maddie typically likes to have a Kind Bar with her. To get her mindset right, her go to pregame song is “Glorious” by Macklemore. The hard work that goes into being a great cheerleader has definitely paid off in Maddie’s career, being that her favorite high school memory is her cheer team winning WPIALS. Maddie’s best advice that she would give younger students would be to enjoy every second of high school, good and bad, because it will be over in a second. After high school Maddie plans to attend cosmetology school. She’s always had support from her friends, but Madison will always consider her whole family to be her biggest supporters.
