5 Motivational Quotes

by Talia Cartwright

Typically, the second semester of the school year is filled with stress, loads of tests, and little to no time for taking care of yourself. For me, my schedule is packed with school work, my job, planning for college, and two of my extracurricular activities. I feel as though I have no motivation or time to do things like doing my assignments (like writing this article). I am very sleep deprived and feel like I lack socially with my friends and classmates. Due to my procrastination, my to-do list and my head are both overwhelmed, causing numerous break-downs with tears and mascara running down my face. When I do find the time or motivation, what helps me is putting on some music, doing some self-care, drinking water, and sitting down at a desk to complete what I need to do. While brainstorming for an article to write I thought of this idea. I looked up some quotes that I have listed below, and they did help. I mean I got this article done and turned in so it did work. I hope that whoever is reading this, whether you are struggling with burnout, time-management, or stress, just remember to take a breath and one step at a time, because you matter the most. I do hope these quotes help to motivate you or someone like they did for me.

“Procrastination makes easy things hard, hard things harder.” - Mason Cooley

“Take a rest. A field that has rested gives a bountiful crop.” Ovid

“It’s not the load that breaks you down, it’s the way you carry it.” - Lou Holtz

“The more stress you accumulate, the heavier it becomes. If you accumulate too much, the weight of carrying it can break you.” - Oscar Auliq-Ice

“Much of the stress that people feel doesn’t come from having too much to do. It comes from not finishing what they’ve started.” - David Allen
