Mallow Pops

Where does the time go? It’s already Halloween season! One of the best parts of fall and Halloween are the parties! If you’re heading to a Halloween party and are looking for a cute, easy, themed dessert to contribute, look no further. Chocolate-covered marshmallow pops are the perfect addition to any dessert table.
To make these cute little treats you need marshmallows, melting chocolate or candy melts, shortening, lollipop sticks, sprinkles, and a piping bag or ziplock bag. First, in a microwave safe bowl or cup, melt one color of your chocolate with 1 tablespoon of shortening on medium heat for one minute uncovered, then stir. After stirring, continue microwaving in 15 second intervals, stirring in between each interval. If the chocolate is too thick, feel free to add more shortening. Repeat with the rest of your colored chocolate.
To start assembling your chocolate marshmallow pops, dip the top of your lollipop stick in chocolate then push the stick in the marshmallow about halfway. The chocolate should act like a glue to hold the marshmallow in place. Repeat with each marshmallow.
To cover the marshmallow in chocolate, pick the color chocolate you want to cover it with. Some cool ideas are orange for a pumpkin, black for a bat, and green for frankenstein. If you plan to put sprinkles on your marshmallows make sure to do so quickly so that the sprinkles stick.
To add finishing touches like faces and pumpkin stems, use a piping bag or cut a tiny hole at the end of a ziplock bag after filling it with chocolate. This will make it easy to create the small designs. It is important to make sure the chocolate covering the marshmallow is completely hardened before completing this step.
When the chocolate is hardened and your marshmallows look like yummy perfection, they are ready to eat!
