Josey’s Senior Spotlight
This week we interviewed Joselynn Fortuna for one of our senior spotlights! Joselynn, also known by many as Josey, is an 18 year old senior who represents our Laurel school district athletically, and academically. Josey has been involved in many different activities throughout the years, consisting of volleyball, basketball, track, FBLA, and she is a part of National Honors Society, as well as receiving a varsity letter in all of her extracurriculars. She has also been nominated, and crowned homecoming queen. Congratulations!
After Joselynn’s time here at Laurel she plans to be in either the Air Force reserves or National Guard, as well as attending the University of Pittsburgh for an undecided major. Every athlete has to have a favorite pre-game meal or snack. Josey’s is french toast and blueberries! Whether she’s about to step onto the field or court, Josey loves to prepare by listening to her favorite hype song which is “Burn it to the Ground” by Nickelback.
Growing up, our seniors learn many things. They wish they could reflect back to the younger ages, and tell themselves what they have been taught throughout the years, but some advice that Josey would like to share with the younger classmen would be to “embrace all the opportunities that you have. Don’t let people or things bring you down, Do what makes YOU happy.”
High school seems to fly by for most, but some of Josey’s favorite memories, during her time of being a Spartan that she will never forget, would be Honors Physics 2 with Mr. Allmann, and attending the WPIAL championship as a freshman for basketball. Through the memorable times Josey can always say that her mom has been her number supporter. When stepping out of her Spartan attire, Josey likes to spend her free time listening to podcasts, going on walks, and spending valuable time with her family. We thank Joselynn Fortuna for being an amazing Spartan. Best of luck to you, and your next chapter! Watch out for our next senior spotlight!
